Waugh Drive Bat Bridge

Buffalo Bayou bridge home to a year-round colony of roughly 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats. The nightly emergence at sunset is one of Houston's most-watched natural events.

Stand on the east side of the bridge facing south at sunset; bats stream out in a continuous ribbon for 20–30 minutes. Long lens with high ISO captures them clearly. Tripod recommended.
