Sesquicentennial Park

Downtown park on the south bank of Buffalo Bayou behind the Wortham Center, with seven 70-foot "Pillars of Heritage" steel columns inscribed by Houston schoolchildren.

What works here

The pillars are dramatic at any time but read sharpest at golden hour with the bayou behind. Stairs down to the bayou give an angle with downtown looming overhead. Combine with theatre-district-plaza.
